Specialized public database of new buildings in the historic environment

The database is linked to the Integrated Information System for Historic Preservation (IISPP). The objects under study are located using the geographic system for historic preservation PaGIS with a link to the meta-information system MIS for storing image documentation and to the application Heritage Sites Catalogue, where historic sites are registered.

The first gradual result of the project will be to cover the territory of the Czech Republic with a basic area survey of urban and rural areas with historical and monumental values, with a focus on new buildings built after 1989. To summarize and inventory the results of the research, an electronic database will be created specifically for this purpose, allowing both an overview of the research process, but especially a subsequent comparison, comprehensive assessment and evaluation of the buildings under study within their environment. In this way, it will be possible to share the research findings of the individual researchers and, where appropriate, on-line discussions can be held to analyse and evaluate the relationship of the new buildings to the existing built environment.

The displayed objects will be assigned spatial identification, annotation, description, photographic documentation and evaluation of the appropriateness or inappropriateness of the intervention, contextual or controversial approach.
